Cliff Top Music Festival 2026: A Seaside Celebration Expands to Two Unforgettable Days in Highcliffe

Nestled along the stunning Dorset coastline, the Cliff Top Music Festival returns in 2026 bigger and bolder than ever. For the first time, this beloved community event expands to two full days on September 5th and 6th, promising a weekend of soul-stirring performances, family-friendly vibes, and breathtaking clifftop views.

Held at Highcliffe Cliff Top in Dorset, the festival transforms the scenic green overlooking the English Channel into a vibrant hub of live music, street food, and seaside magic.

Organized by not-for-profit Stir Events CIC in collaboration with Highcliffe Village, the festival has grown steadily since its inception. What began as a free one-day community gathering in 2023, attracting around 8,000 attendees, evolved into a ticketed event in 2025 with 2,500 visitors.

Now, after securing licensing approval from Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole (BCP) Council in early 2026, despite initial local concerns over noise and transport, the festival steps up to a two-day format. This expansion addresses community feedback with adjusted timings and restrictions, while boosting opportunities for local businesses.

The Commitments – Will Wilson

The 2026 edition introduces themed days to cater to diverse tastes. Saturday, dubbed Soul Saturday, dives deep into funk, groove, and classic soul. Headlining the day is The Commitments, starring original film actor Robert Arkins as Jimmy Rabbitte. Celebrating the 35th anniversary of the iconic 1991 film The Commitments, Arkins brings his nine-piece band to the stage for a high-energy set of soul classics like “Mustang Sally,” “In the Midnight Hour,” “Nowhere to Run,” “Dark End of the Street,” and “Try a Little Tenderness.”

The film’s soundtrack has sold over 60 million copies worldwide, and Arkins’ global tours since the movie’s release make this a rare and authentic treat for fans. Expect an electrifying atmosphere as the band channels the raw energy of Dublin’s working-class soul scene.

The Fleetwood Mac Experience

Sunday shifts gears to Solid-Gold Sunday, focusing on glam, pop, and timeless rock anthems. The headline act is The Fleetwood Mac Experience, a highly acclaimed tribute band renowned for their faithful recreations of Fleetwood Mac’s greatest hits. Audiences can look forward to soaring performances of “Go Your Own Way,” “Dreams,” “Don’t Stop,” “Everywhere,” “Rhiannon,” “The Chain,” and more.

Endorsed by musicians who have played with the real Fleetwood Mac, this tribute captures the look, sound, and spirit of the legendary group, delivering an emotional journey through their catalog.

While full supporting lineups are yet to be fully announced, organizers promise an “amazing selection” of bands and artists complementing the headliners, building on past years’ retro-themed successes with acts like Odyssey and ABBA tributes. The festival’s intimate scale ensures a relaxed, community feel, perfect for dancing on the grass or lounging with a picnic.

Highcliffe’s natural beauty elevates the experience. Perched on cliffs with panoramic views over the Isle of Wight and Hengistbury Head, the site offers dramatic seaside backdrops. Nearby Highcliffe Castle, a Grade I listed Gothic Revival mansion, adds historical charm to the area. Visitors often explore its grounds before or after the festival.

Beyond the music, the festival emphasizes family fun and local flavor. Street food vendors serve everything from gourmet burgers to fresh seafood, while festival bars offer craft beers, cocktails, and soft drinks. Vibrant market stalls feature artisan crafts, vintage clothing, and seaside souvenirs. Children under 12 enter free (accompanied by an adult), with activities tailored for all ages.

Bring your own blankets or low-backed chairs for prime viewing spots, and take advantage of the park & ride service from nearby New Milton for easy access.

Practical details make attendance straightforward. Gates open at 11:00 on both days, with music running until 19:00 on Saturday and 17:00 on Sunday. Tickets are affordably priced, with early bird adult day passes starting at £9 and weekend options around £16.50.

Discounts apply for seniors, blue light card holders, and carers, while family bundles offer great value. Book via the official Ticket Fairy site to avoid missing out. Early birds have already been snapping them up.

Safety and comfort are priorities: on-site first aid, accessible facilities, free drinking water, and strict policies on banned items (no glass, drones, or outside alcohol) ensure a welcoming environment. Dogs are not permitted except assistance animals, and the event operates rain or shine. Dorset’s September weather often delivers golden sunshine.

The Cliff Top Music Festival 2026 embodies the spirit of Highcliffe: community-driven, scenic, and joyfully nostalgic. Whether you’re a soul enthusiast grooving to The Commitments or singing along to Fleetwood Mac classics, this two-day extravaganza promises memories against one of England’s most picturesque coastlines.

Mark your calendars for September 5th and 6th. Tickets are on sale now, and this seaside celebration is set to be the highlight of the summer’s end.
